What Are the Differences Between CBD Oil AndCBD Tincture

Any discussion around cannabis involves talks of the two most popular compounds and that are THC and CBD. CBD oil has earned popularity due to its apparent advantages, which are twofold, medicinal and therapeutic. These advantages do not include psychoactive effects. This article will learn about two methods by which we can use CBD – tincture and oil. There could be various reasons why some people prefer CBD oil and other choose CBD oil tincture.

What is CBD oil?

The oil extracted by a procedure involves pulling oil from seeds and flowers of the plant hemp. Out of all the available forms of CBD, CBD oil is the most expensive and potent one.

What is CBD tincture?

As the word suggests, CBD tincture is a medication kept in some alcohol arrangement. Although the tincture is derived from hemp, it is not the same as that of CBD oil. It is suspended under 60-70% distilled alcohol and combined with a mix of various things like glycerin, cinnamon/peppermint oil. Even CBD tinctures are consumable sublingually, just like CBD oil.

Differences between CBD oil and CBD tincture

1.      Base

The base in CBD oil is cannabidiol, whereas CBD tincture has the headquarters of alcohol. However, the therapeutic properties of both CBD oil tinctures are the same irrespective of the base. They are used widely as they aid best in inflammation, anxiety, and stress.

2.      Method of Ingestion

CBD oil can have to be ingested with the help of a vape, but a CBD tincture can be easily ingested even by mixing in food due to its alcohol base.

3.      Taste

Even though both are derived from hemp, the taste of both CBD oil tincture differs completely. CBD oil, when consumed orally, gives an unpleasant taste. On the other hand, CBD tincture is available in various flavors like chocolate, vanilla, peach, etc., and eases the absorption process when taken sublingually. By sublingually, we mean putting it under the tongue. CBD oil gives an oily after taste which is not pleasant to many individuals.

4.      Shelf life

CBD oil has a shorter shelf life when compared to CBD tincture as the tincture is made with ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol which acts as a preservative in it. It is easy to spot an expired CBD oil by anyone if they see a cloudy or foggy oil. To extend the shelf-life, CBD products should get stored away from direct sunlight.
