To be eligible to apply for this visa:
- An approved Australian employer should nominate you.
- You should be under 50 years or 45 years of age depending on the category through which you want to apply.
- You should meet the educational qualification and English language requirement.
It should be noted that the length of the stay is permanent. The cost for applying the visa is around AUD 3,670.
Under the Temporary residence Transitions scheme it is mandatory for an applicant to work under the employer who is the resident of Australia for a minimum of two years.
But don’t be perplexed if you haven’t worked under any Australian employer. It is also possible to get the Visa through ENS under Australia direct entry stream visa where it is not necessary to have a two year working experience.
But you need to pass a formal skill assessment.
To be eligible under this category, it is required that you should have a formal qualification.

The skill assessment is done by regional certifying body. The assessment is done in order to scrutinize your nomination by a third party. And also the regional certifying body has the relevant information about the local market and is familiar about the local conditions related to labour market.
Exemption from skill assessment
A certain group of professionals are exempted from skill assessment and requirement of minimum work experience. These are:
- Academicians nominated by Australian University
- Personals appointed by Australian Government Scientific agency like scientists, researchers or technical specialists.
- NZ family members or NZ citizens
The minimum age requirement for direct entry stream visa in Australia is 45 years. However there are also exemptions for a specific class of professionals.
